Institute for Distributed Creativity
The research of the Institute for Distributed Creativity (iDC) of the past year has focused on a critique of the sociable web, or what Tim O'Reilly calls Web 2.0.
The iDC is an international network that combines advanced creative production, research, events, and documentation. The Institute has organized several large-scale conferences. It is known for its vivid mailing list that is a forum for some 1250 new media researchers ranging from media artists, urbanists, librarians, scientists, designers, educators, and business consultants to activists. The iDC was founded in mid-2004 by Trebor Scholz who also moderates its mailing list.
