blips.tk
Blips are temporary departures from
familiar experience. Based on the concept that the majority of cultural
activity in our post-industrial society remains invisible to the
institutions and discourses -critics, art historians, collectors,
dealers, museums, curators and arts administrators- who manage and
interpret contemporary culture, blips.tk is a collaborative online
project that seeks to archive and reflect critically on this "creative
dark matter." This open history project contains a database of multimedia submissions, selected essays that reflect on issues raised by this content, as well as a web log for critical debate. We encourage individuals and organizations to submit artwork, ideas, documents, and information of a wide variety that belongs to this shadow realm of creativity. The domain is registered on the island of Tokelau, 480 km north of Western Samoa.
